To start off the celebration, in collaboration with The College of Engineering, we will be hosting three sessions for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit, each 50 minutes in length, starting at 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. Each session will be worth 1 CPD credit, for a total of 3 CPD credits for the afternoon:
1. 1- 1:50 p.m. “Sustainable mobility – what will the drivers and challenges be in the next 20 years?”
2. 2 - 2:50 p.m. “Internal combustion engines 20 years from now,” with a broad overview of engines and fuel trends looking to the future
3. 3 - 3:50 p.m. “Vehicle electrification – what are the barriers to the introduction of electric vehicles?” with specific coverage of grid related issue, charging and batteries
Following the seminars, CAR will host, for all CAR alumni and friends, a 20th Anniversary celebration:
All Day Classic and Specialty Car and Motorcycle Show. Contact David Emerling at emerling.4@osu.edu if you intend to bring a vehicle
4 - 9 p.m. OSU CAR Open House. Visit our engine, battery, hybrid vehicle research facilities and the motorsports student project building
4 - 7 p.m. Ride and Drive: Come test and experience hybrid and electric vehicles including OSU student-built prototypes and production vehicles
5 - 7 p.m. Barbeque: Join us for a fun evening of food and drinks in an informal setting
5 p.m. Anniversary Celebration Kickoff with unveiling of CAR’s future plans for expansion and development
