COMPANY AWARD CATEGORIES (scroll down for individual categories)

Submissions are evaluated on unique criteria developed for each category and include Innovation, Business Approach, Success and Impact. For detailed category descriptions and criteria, please refer to the Categories, Rules & Regulations document available at www.techcolumbusinnovationawards.org.

For categories that have small and large designations, small equals less than (<) 250 employees and large equals more than (>) 250 employees.

Outstanding Startup Business
Nominee qualifications: a growing company, in business for less than (<) five (5) years, with at least one product or service.

Outstanding Product (small & large)
Nominee qualifications: a company that has designed, developed and produced a technology-based product.

Outstanding Service (small & large)
Nominee qualifications: a company that has defined, introduced and marketed a technology-based service.

Outstanding Technology Team
Nominee qualifications: a team of TWO OR MORE individuals, each from at least one company, that demonstrates successful implementation or development of an innovative technology-based initiative or technological breakthrough.

Green Innovation
Nominee qualifications: a company that has EITHER: Developed a Green product or service that is commercially available and in production, and is in use with at least one customer/client; OR Applied or  implemented a technology or process change that has a net positive impact on the environment.

Innovation in Non-Profit Service Delivery
Nominee qualifications: a non-profit organization that has applied or implemented a technology or process change that has positively impacted the ability of the organization to provide constituent services.

Corporate Innovator of the Year (company with more than 5000 employees)
Nominee qualifications: an individual, team, organizational unit within a company WITH MORE THAN 5,000 EMPLOYEES that has had direct leadership and involvement in the innovative use of technology.

2011 INDIVIDUAL AWARD CATEGORIES

Executive of the Year (small & large)
Nominee qualifications: an executive of a company has achieved significant business success within the Qualification Period.

Outstanding Woman in Technology
Nominee qualifications: a woman who demonstrates a commitment and dedication to technology.

Inventor of the Year
Nominee qualifications: an inventor who, by a single invention or multiple innovations, has created the greatest impact on technology through his, her or their innovation(s).
