TechLounge: Central Ohio Technology | Entrepreneurs | Innovation

I am a high school technology teacher. Teachers' proudest moments are when a students outgrow them. Katherine Miller, a recent TechColumbus Student Innovation Award winner, is a case in point. She is a founder of our New Albany High School STEM Girls Club, and the creator of our FIONA (Future Innovators of New Albany) middle school girls collaboration. She was recently recognized by the National Center for Women & Information Technology as a National Aspirations in Computing Award winner.

And it all began 3 years ago when she and her team created a robot that could make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Channel 10 in Columbus will air a "Female Focus" segment about Kate and FIONA on Monday evening, March 12th, during the 5PM news. They came to us for the story right after the TechColumbus Awards event. Go, TechColumbus!

Dave,

I can't imagine how proud you must be. Katherine and the other students stole the show at the Innovation Awards and your commitment to their education and growth is obvious. Keep up the great work. If you would like to bring a class down to our TechColumbus campus, I welcome the opportunity to provide a tour and share some of the exciting things that are happening around TechColumbus and our 30+ incubator companies.
